Born and raised in São Paolo, Brazil, Ana L. Oliveira has devoted more than 25 years in public health addressing communities in need. She served as the Executive Director of the Gay Men’s Health Crisis before joining The New York Women’s Foundation in 2006. Under her leadership, The New York Women’s Foundation has become the top public women’s foundation in the U.S., investing in bold, community-led organizations and leaders striving for economic security, safety, and health. Ms. Oliveira serves as a Commissioner of the NYC Commission on Human Rights and is a member of the Independent Commission on the New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform that is working toward closing the jail complex on Rikers Island. |
