The Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. is seeking a Chief Attorney to manage its Attorneys for Children Unit. The Chief Attorney’s responsibilities include: focusing on continuous improvement to ensure that clients are provided with the highest quality representation; establishing and maintaining a cooperative work environment; leading regular unit meetings and managing unit communications; monitoring and managing the performance of the staff attorneys and support staff; handling employee grievances in accordance with the collective bargaining agreements; making staffing decisions; responding to client concerns and/or complaints; responding to judges and court personnel regarding operations; assisting with preparation of funding applications; and participation in relevant national, statewide and community activities. In addition, the Chief Attorney will also be responsible to carry a case load. Requirements include: 6+ years Attorney for Child experience; 5+ years attorney supervision experience (preferred); admission to New York State Bar; and demonstrated commitment to children and/or disabled.
