The New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”), a major not-for-profit urban development corporation, seeks a detail-oriented, self-motivated attorney with experience in construction law to join its Legal Department to provide legal counsel.
At least three years of post-law school experience and one year of experience in construction law is required. Experience with economic development is a plus. Admission to practice law in New York is strongly preferred. New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire.
About the Legal Department:
The Legal Department provides advice and representation on construction projects, litigation, municipal bond financings, tax benefit agreements, real estate development activities (including land sales and leases), and corporate matters, interacting with private companies, City, State and federal agencies and the Port Authority.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation that reports to the City’s Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development. Its mission is to create shared prosperity across New York City’s five boroughs by strengthening neighborhoods and growing good jobs.
NYCEDC is responsible for the design and construction of a wide variety of projects throughout the City.
