More than 100 guests attended a celebration sponsored by the Puerto Rican Bar Association commemorating the centennial of American citizenship for Puerto Rico residents.

The bar group awarded its medal of justice to Katzmann and to Cabranes, who gave the keynote address.
The New York City Bar Office of Diversity is now accepting nominations for the inaugural Associate Leadership Institute, a five-part series of high-level development training for 4th-8th year associates at signatory firms. The institute will include keynote speakers, intensive training modules, and networking opportunities. The program will run from April – July 2017, and will be held on Fridays at the City Bar.
Curriculum will include workshops on the following topics:
- Executive Presence & Impactful Communication Skills
- Building Your Personal Brand: Leveraging Strengths & Mitigating Weakness
- Leveraging Your Network: Mentor & Sponsor Relationships
- Rainmaking, Business Development/Client Relationships
- Practice & Career Planning and Transitioning

Puerto Rican Bar Association in furthering its mission partners with Brooklyn Law School in promoting the PRBA “Youth Law Day” program. The program was established to energize High School students of diverse backgrounds to study and gain an interest in the law.
The program will showcase various legal professionals. The panel of attorneys will discuss their daily activities and responsibilities as attorneys. The students will have an opportunity to participate in a mock law class. After lunch a break, the students will be able to participate in an interactive “mock trial” with PRBA lawyers guiding them through the process.
