PA’LANTE Harlem, a non-profit grassroots tenant advocacy organization, hosts an annual three-day “Demystifying Housing” Conference, where tenants throughout the city can attend free workshops, panels and legal clinics. On average, about 500 people attend the conference over the course of the three days. Many of the attendees are low- and middle-income tenants who can benefit from legal advice. For that reason, they have legal clinics every day where tenants can discuss their housing concerns with attorneys. These are one-time conversations geared towards informing tenants of their legal rights and options.
This year, the conference is being held at City College’s North Academic Center from July 31 to August 2, between 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
PA’LANTE Harlem is seeking housing and immigration lawyers that are interested in volunteering their time and legal expertise for tenants in need of advice. If you are interested in volunteering for one, two, or all three days, please reach out at Rowena Kosher by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at (212)491-2541.
