The Puerto Rican Bar Association Scholarship Fund, Inc. (the “PRBA Scholarship Fund”) is a non-profit, IRS 501(c)(3) charitable entity which was created for the purpose of raising funds to award financial scholarships to deserving law students. The PRBA Scholarship Fund was funded and incorporated in 1978 by the late Justice Donald Grajales, a past president of the PRBA, who had a distinguished career as a New York State Court of Claims Judge.
Contributions to the PRBA Scholarship Fund are accepted throughout the year— to date, over $400,000.00 in scholarship grants have been awarded since the fund’s inception. Scholarships are awarded to law students on the basis of three criteria: (i) Scholastic Achievement, (ii) Community Involvement and (iii) Financial Need.
Donations to the Scholarship Fund, an IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, are tax deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law.
For the first time the Puerto Rican Bar Association, through its scholarship fund, will be awarding legacy scholarships in celebration of its 2017 Puerto Rican Bar Association Diamond Jubilee.

To receive the award, the scholarship recipient must remain in good standing and enrolled full-time at an accredited American Bar Association Law School in New York State.
