Join us for a virtual event discussing a proposed constitutional
amendment to lift the population-based cap on the number of elected
Supreme Court Justices. Currently, there is a limit of one Supreme Court
Justice per 50,000 residents. Should NY calculate the number of judges
needed in every court as is done in 28 states and the federal courts on a
regular basis? A report of the New York City Bar Association provides
context and makes recommendations on how to address these issues.
