New Supervising Judges Appointed in NYC Courts

The New York State Unified Court System has announced the appointment of six new Supervising Judges in New York City. These esteemed judges will oversee various courts, furthering justice and efficiency across the city. 

New Supervising Judges:

Hon. Edwin I. Novillo: Queens County Criminal Court

Hon. Taisha L. Chambers: Bronx County Civil Court

Hon. Carmen A. Pacheco: Kings County Civil Court

Hon. L. Austin D’Souza: New York County Civil Court

Hon. Ira R. Greenberg: Queens County Civil Court

Hon. Frances Ortiz: New York County Housing Court

Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Zayas commended the appointees for their leadership, legal expertise, and unwavering commitment to public service. These appointments reflect the courts’ dedication to meeting the evolving needs of New York City’s justice system. 

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the newly promoted judges, with special recognition to former PRBA President the Hon. Carmen A. Pacheco. We are deeply grateful for her service to the organization and take immense pride in her remarkable achievement.
