The Puerto Rican Bar Association (PRBA) is proud to announce the renaming of its prestigious Public Service Award in honor of the late Carol Robles-Román. This honor celebrates her enduring legacy and contributions to public service, the Puerto Rican Bar Association and the legal community.

Carol Robles-Román was a trailblazer, an advocate for justice, and a role model for countless legal professionals. Her dedication to equality, women’s and Latinx rights, and public service has left an indelible mark on our society. As a dedicated public servant and civil rights advocate who helped make New York’s courts more accessible, Carol exemplified the values that the PRBA holds dear.
The Carol Robles-Román Public Service Award will be presented annually at the PRBA Scholarship Fund Gala. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to public service and have made significant contributions to advancing the legal profession.
We are also delighted to announce that Lisa Rivera,Esq., President and CEO of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), will be the first recipient of the Carol Robles-Román Public Service Award. Lisa Rivera’s exemplary work and dedication to providing legal assistance to underserved communities embody the spirit of this award.
